Hi guys.
Not sure if anyone here can help me, but i can't seem to setup xlink kai correctly to play games over it (namely Forza)
I had this same setup connected to xlink sometime ago, but its been a long time and i can't remember how and all tut's i've read just aren't bringing anything back.
I have a two network card setup.
My first network card is connected to my Cable modem for internet access.
My second network card is connected to my xbox to allow ftp transfers etc etc.
This is the setup i wish to get going with xlink kai. If anyone is willing to help me out it is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. I'll try my best IP address should be for 2nd Network card Set this up on PC in Netwrok Connections, click on the 2nd card and open properties, then Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties. "Use the following IP" should be checked - IP Address - 192.168.0.1 Subnet mask- 255.255.255.0 Default gateway - Leave blank Now for FTP useage you can set the XBox dashboard Settings to DHCP with the subnet mask as above and the deafult gateway as the cards IP (192.168.0.1).....or you can use a static IP in which case set the IP to static with the IP - 192.168.0.2 Now use the Kai-config tool, set to "Default", Network adaptor to "auto detect and lock". Make sure you use a crossover cable (for two way traffic) and also ensure to allow Xlink in your firewall exception list (don't do what many people try to tell you and disable your firewall, that will make your system vunerable, just click the exceptions list and choose to allow Xlink to be unblocked). Any further help needed, just let me know and I'll seek answers for you Best regards Joker

Thanks man. I'm gonna give it a go now EDIT: Network is still showing as unreachable for some reason. I've made sure to use a cross over cable and all of that. and added an exception to Windows Firewall but to no luck. not sure what i've done wrong here, but it is very frustrating

Which dashboard are you using for the Xbox? Have you used the Network Wizard to set the network up? Here is the settings I used (in picture format, saves a lot of typing ) Also try here for FAQs - www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=faqIf you can get to messenger mode in Kai then you should be able to get one of the staff there to help out too Just look down the list of users in messenger mode and look for admin/moderators, I've always known the staff to be more than helpful OH nearly forgot, but if you need to enter an Engine IP for Kai (think this only applies to Xbox Media Center though) then enter the IP of your network card (as this is the gateway to acces the net through your xbox, so it will be 192.168.0.1 )

Yeah thats the same as my setup... might play around with some other things and see what happens. Otherwise, i fear im getting close to just scrapping the idea all together.
Oh, and i use UIX as my main dash, but also have XBMC on there.

Try connecting while you have your firewall disabled totally, if you can get network reachable then you have problems with firewall settings, also make sure that the crossover cable is connected firmly, you should see the little lights come on inside the connection on the Xbox. Otherwise I'm unsure of your problems..... Also try TeamXlinks step by step guide here - www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=helpHopefully you can get it sorted soon, I remember I had the same troubles when I first connected (January 2005) but resolved my issues almost immediately through the help of a moderator at Xlink named 'PFL TwoCents', I hadn't set the IP correctly for the netwrok card and was trying to use DHCP on that.....lol I think having troubles with Xlink is all part of the parcel.....lol Best of luck
