This is so well executed that I just had to post it here in its full version. It's been posted elsewhere but for obvious reasons I've only been able to post anonymously, and even there only with elements missing. Jake spent quite a few hours on this and it's pretty impressive in anyone's language.
Unless you know the background the joke will escape you. What's happened here is that the UK government has delayed implementation of a policy and I needed something to send to send to my customers to tell them that even though things were uncertain, I, at least, retained a measure of humour about it. For those people interested in these things but are from a slightly different culture, the white elephant is a metaphor for something that serves no useful purpose, and here it is adorned with the logos of companies who bought into the government's plans.
The profit forecast is headed by the logo of the trade association of those companies affected by the government’s "u-turn" and who were hoping to make a great deal of money from the policy; and the car speeding away carries the government’s Treasury logo, for they are the only people so far to have made money. The "Sold" sign extruding from the elephant is pretty clear.
I have, for obvious reasons, had to redact the caption and the placard placed in the foreground, for if my Head Office discovers that I’m responsible for this, then things will look very grim indeed! Broadly, though, the joke in the placard is that the company in which I'm involved were offering first, HIPs - these were scrapped, and then EPCs - these were delayed by the UK gov - and so the 3rd element in the business plan is given as "cutting-grass"; this being the remaining element and the obvious idiot role.
The sign pointing towards the job centre is clear (and possibly preferable to a career cutting grass!). As I said, the subject is only relevant to people on other forums but the execution is worth showing here, if only to show the limitations imposed by Forza and what is otherwise possible.
If anyone spots an error in the cartoon, then please contact Jake242, for he did all the work!
