The idea came when racing an offline challenge on FRC

thinking............which hatchback or everyday coupe is really the fastest???

race place is my favourite track Road America, which is probably the best highspeed track to do this test on(nurburg being too long)

the races will be in a non-collision with limited damage and simulation tire/fuel

I will hold race gatherings as often I can with those cars in mind
sign up if your interested

if or when we have enough people interested I will make a tournament where there will be some prices in form of specially designed cars

if or when that happens........race conditions will be full collision and full damage (unless we have serious lag problems.........then it will be no collision)

it would be cool if you could mention the car that you are using and what times / stats your getting(so others know if they even have a chance)

the idea is to get a field of different cars.......that all have about the same times or atleast is competitive

This idea is great!
As I cant participate in Xlink races at the moment I (with jake's approval) will post times and impressions on various cars !
Each car was tested between 5 and 10 laps with ABS only.

Bad points:
-Understeering
-Top speed
Best possible should be around 2.06.xxx for me.

RENAULT Clio V6 - S4 - 336kW - time:2.10.724

-Engine needs more power

Best possible for me on a perfect lap wouldnt get under 2.09.xxx

TOYOTA AE86 Sprinter Trueno - S2 - 455kW (Altezza Engine swap) - time:x.xx.xxx
Good points:
-Drifting
Bad points:
-Overpowered
-Chassis cant handle power
-Brakes can't handle power
-Car is "floating" over 120mph
-ZERO grip without TCS and STM
Best possible should be between 2 and 3 minutes

Tests were done with basic set up changes, some more in depth tuning could help lower the lap times !
